Equity Concerns

Access disparities raise significant concerns. Students with home internet access and personal devices can leverage AI tools that others cannot. Premium AI subscriptions provide advantages unavailable to students from lower-income families.

Schools are exploring various approaches, including institutional subscriptions, computer lab access, and mobile-friendly alternatives. However, the digital divide in AI access adds another dimension to existing educational inequities.

Educator opinions span a wide spectrum. Some see AI as a transformative opportunity, while others view it as undermining fundamental learning processes. Professional development and support have not kept pace with the technology’s rapid evolution.
